FAQ

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What Are the Qualifications of Elite Home Care’s Providers?

Elite requires an initial drug test and random drug testing, 10-year SLED check, and successful completion of the Caregiver Training University courses which does include Alzheimer's and dementia care training. Care providers also receive hands-on training in the use of lifts and gate belts by medical professionals. In addition, many caregivers have First Aid, CPR and CNA certifications. All staff members are covered by workers' compensation and liability insurance.

What is a SLED Check for Caregivers?

A SLED check is the South Carolina Law Enforcement check that ensures all hires have a clean record. We require a SLED check that goes at least 10 years back.

Do you Provide Care in Nursing Homes and Assisted Living Communities?

Elite Home Care can provide services at nursing homes or assisted living communities. We would provide documentation to facility caretakers at that time.

What is In-Home Care Compared to Assisted Living?

We work in conjunction with a lot of assisted living communities, and they are the right choice for a lot of people. However, since assisted living is NOT covered by Medicare it must be paid for out of pocket and can be a very big monthly expense for many people. With a personal in-home caregiver through Elite Home Care, you are in control of the costs since our clients decide how many hours of care they need rather than paying for services you may not need at an Assisted Living Community. Elite Home Care has numerous registered nurses on staff to help facilitate quality care and oversee care plans. Another difference is one of the most important reasons that families choose Elite Home Care, an assisted living community has to manage the needs of many residents with their staff spreading their time among many different people with varying needs. The most valuable benefit of our service is that our client has one caregiver to tend to all needs. Our client is our caregiver’s only priority.

Is Elite Home Care’s Caregiving Schedule Flexible?

A lot of thought and consideration has gone into everything we do to try and make our process as easy as possible for our clients and their families. We have dedicated professionals working to make sure all our schedules are set to our client’s exact requests, and we make every attempt to meet last minute requests. We never require our clients to sign any long-term contracts, and our team is available to help accommodate any schedule changes by phone. We even have an online system for clients and their families to use to monitor scheduling.
