Physical impairment care is the care you receive when you have a physical disability. This can include adults in wheelchairs, adults with cerebral palsy, or impairments from accidents or traumatic injuries that prevent standard range of motion that adults with no physical impairments typically have.
A physical disability is a disability that impacts a person’s capability to perform physical tasks or functions. Physical disabilities can be developmentally related or can happen later in life from accidents, traumatic experiences, general disease or aging.
To care for adults or elderly adults with physical impairments, caregivers typically stay with the adult to help them perform necessary tasks like shopping, cleaning or helping with tasks around the home.
At Elite Home Care, we have DHEC caregivers, meaning we are certified via the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control. But we don’t stop there. Many of our caregivers have their First Aid, CPR and CNA certifications and if they don’t, we provide training before assigning them with patients.
